All the BC authors with new picture, juvenile and YA books were there to promote and show off their new babies inside of the glitzy Hycroft Manor (no pictures because someone forgot their camera. That someone would be me).
There were thrills (Linda Bailey asked me where the line for tea was!), chills (it was raining outside and my shoes were wet. I fear I may contract a wasting disease a la Marianne Dashwood) and more togas than you would suspect to be present at a children's book event.
We got swag! So much swag! Also a list of new books that we have to purchase and read for Bookslingers.
And I met Kelley Armstrong and she was so sweet despite the fact that I'd never read any of her books. *shame* I am so behind the times its embarrassing (Is the Babysitter's Club still all the rage with the young people?). But, I bought the first two books in her Darkest Powers series and she was nice enough to autograph both of them!
Can't wait to start reading them (they are New York Times bestsellers, don't you know) and can't wait for next year's Hycroft Book Event for more fabulous hobnobbing with BC authors.
